Designed for comfort and speed, this model captures every detail, from precisely applied GNER branding to the carefully sculpted interior, to recreate the experience of intercity rides at speeds of up to 125 km/h. With running number 42241, this trainer was part of the iconic high-speed train sets that revolutionized long-distance ride on the main line of the East Coast. The GNER HST MK3 TS seamlessly combines with other TT:120 MK3 buses and power cars, bringing authenticity and prestige to any modern railway. HistoryBR developed the Mark 3 in response to improved comfort of airlines and the comfort of the family car, both of which took traffic away from the railroads in the early '70s. Originally conceived as a locomotive-hauled stock, were the first to be produced in 1972 for the prototype HST. The first production vehicles were placed 5.016.5 cm of service and continued to be built until 1988. Although outwardly similar to the Mark 2 carriage, it has a completely different design, with a ridged roof and a subframe apron, while its predecessor had a smooth roof and visible underframe equipment. The body is 23m long, which is 3m longer than the MK2. It is also of full monocoque construction (one-piece body shell) with an all-welded mild steel stressed skin. To give it a superior, smooth ride, it also features secondary air suspension and disc brakes on the wheels (rather than staple brakes) that allow for running at speeds of up to 200 km/h and efficient deceleration. The Mk3 HST cars differ from the Mk3A locomotives mainly in electrical arrangement, but are otherwise very same. These HST cars get their supply from a three-phase power supply directly from an auxiliary alternator in the motor vehicle, while the Mk3A converts the single-phase AC power supply from the locomotive through engine generator units under the ground, which converts the train supply to three-phase. Safety Warning Detailed model. Not suitable for children under 14 years. Please note the safety instructions in the enclosed instructions for use. Colours and contents may vary from the picture.
