Nearly fifty years ago, Tom Ritchey, his mentor Jobst Brandt, and a group of similar friends spent countless adventurous hours on remote trails, broken asphalt, and rough gravel roads rotating through the mountains in and around Butano State Park in Northern California. Tom still rides on these trails and roads today and this topography and the groundbreaking rides that took place there are the inspiration for the Butano handlebar. This unique bar has been highly sought after by legions of gravel lovers and road riders since it was introduced a few years ago. The wide drop flare provides adventurous riders with an increased level of control and confidence compared to traditional drop bars, while the flat drop height and short reach provide a welcome amount of comfort for endless days in the rough thing. Updated for 2021, the new Butano uses its original comfort by adding new features such as the ability of internal cable routing and an inviting ergo aero top for increased hand support. The Drop Flare on the new Butano has also grown wider and has a generous 18° for added comfort and control. Born from Tom's legendary riding adventures in remote California, the new Butano handlebar delivers the features you need for your own infinite explorations and uneasy journeys.
