Practical notes: Wash dirt and oil from hands, surfaces and tools with detergent to prepare for modelling. Prepare the clay by kneading until it is smooth and supple and can be shaped with tools or press moulds. Baking times may vary. Generally plan 30 minutes baking time per 6 mm thickness - test run recommended. Normal baking at the right temperature may produce a small amount of smoke. Baking at higher than recommended temperatures can cause increased smoke and should be avoided (all fumes are non-toxic). Place on a foil or ceramic plate (to distribute heat evenly) and bake in the middle of a household oven preheated to 120-130 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes. Do not use microwave with polymer clay. Cured clay can withstand further layers of clay and can be re-fired. Store unused clay in cling film and store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
