The cycle consists of a period of online operation (TD) when the engine can reach its maximum permissible temperature, followed by an expiration (tm) of time, which is not enough for the engine to return to the ambient temperature. The value of S3 on this engine corresponds to 7% or 42 seconds online operation in a period of ten minutes.
