MAGNETIZED FOR SAFETY While aligning steels (sometimes referred to as sharpening steel), reorienting your knife's blade for a sharper cut, they can also become tiny metal particles from your blade in the air. Our honing rods are magnetized to prevent these particles from being inhaled or ending up on nearby foods. BUILT TO USE FOR YEARS - Noble Home & Chef honing steels are crafted from high quality hardened carbon steel. Every material in our knife sharpener has been carefully selected. You won't find cheap plastic handles or soft, inexpensive steel. When you hold it, the weight immediately shows how solid the construction is, and the design adds class to any kitchen.
