Made in Germany. Aramid (AR) is one of the most important organic chemical fibers nowadays and is used in a variety of special industrial applications and leisure. In addition to its high strength, Aramid offers excellent heat resistance, very good dimensional stability and very low elongation values. Aramid does not corrode and resists the attack of solvents. Aramid is heat and flame resistant, but not UV resistant. Thanks to polyester braiding, the rope is very weatherproof, abrasion-resistant and can be used as a steel cable replacement in indoor and outdoor areas. Technical and chemical properties - Rope sheath: polyester, rope core: aramid - Strength drop due to moisture: 0%. - Water absorption: 2-5%. - Knot strength: 30-35%. - Light resistance (UV light): very good. - Elongation at break: 4%. - Working elongation: <1.5% (good as wire replacement). - Abrasion resistance: very good. - Washing temperature: 50-60°C. - Petrol, diesel and lubricating oil: without influence. - Rope sheath solvent: phenols, cresole, zinc chloride. - Rope sheath resistant to alkalis up to 20°C. - At 100 °C, rope sheath is dissolved by alkalis. - Electrical properties: very good insulating capacity. - Temperature limit rope sheath: 170°C (short-term load). - Softening temperature rope sheath: 225°C. - Melting temperature rope sheath: 260°C. - Temperature limit rope core: 400°C (short-term load). - Cable core charred at 500 °C.
